<p>Provided is an optical glass which has a reduced Sb2O3 content and can retain high transmissivity in a visible region. An optical glass having a composition which comprises, in mass%, 35% or more of SiO2, less than 50 ppm of Sb2O3 and less than 30 ppm of Fe2O3, and which is characterized in that the value of the (Fe2O3 content/total Pt content) ratio is 5.5-14. It is preferred that the absorption edge of transmissivity of the optical glass is 310 nm or less when the measurement is carried out using the optical glass having a thickness of 10 mm.</p> |
