<p>- 11 The present invention relates to a rod holder comprising a rod support member adapted to elevate and support a fishing rod whose baited or lured line has been cast in an attempt to catch a fish, the rod support member being rotatable between a first angle at which the rod is positioned for catching fish, and a second angle to which the rod support member moves when sufficient tension is applied to the fishing line in a direction away from the rod holder. The rod holder further includes a means of biasing the rod support member to said first angle, and an audible or visual alarm adapted to be triggered when the rod support member is rotated to the second angle.</p> |
