<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified starch binding domain having a carbohydrate-binding activity showing the decreased activity as compared with the carbohydrate binding activity of the starch binding domain of wild type. <P>SOLUTION: The modified starch binding domain contains a carbohydrate binding activity showing the decreased activity as compared with the carbohydrate binding activity of the starch binding domain of wild type.
