<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce management burdens of authentication information and network loads. <P>SOLUTION: A message exchange system comprises: a message transmitting-receiving part 21 which receives a message transmitted from an external system 5 of a transmission source to another external system 5 of a transmission destination; a determination part 11 which determines whether or not a self-exchange 10 is a final exchange on a message communication path, and if it is determined that the exchange is the final exchange, further determines whether or not the authentication information for the external system of the transmission destination is held in the self message exchange system; and an authentication information acquisition part 12 which acquires the authentication information for the external system of the transmission destination from another message exchange system 1 having another exchange 10 contained on the message communication path if it is determined that the authentication information for the external system of the transmission destination is not held.
