PURPOSE:To improve the ratio of a generating area to a light receiving area by a method wherein a series connection type first photoelectromotive force element is provided on one surface of a light permeable substrate and a second photoelectromotive force element is provided on the other surface of the substrate in such a manner that the photoelectric conversion regions of the second element are arranged at the spaces between the adjacent photoelectric conversion regions of the first element. CONSTITUTION:A series connection type first electromotive force element 6 consists of photoelectric conversion regions 5a, 5b... which are connected electrically in series and the photoelectric conversion elements 5a, 5b... consist of laminated bodies composed of transparent conductive films 2a, 2b..., which are formed on a light permeable substrate 1 with a certain interval, amorphous semiconductor films 3a, 3b..., which are formed on the transparent conductive films 2a, 2b..., and back side electrode films 4a, 4b.... A second photoelectromotive force element 7 is provided on the other surface, which is a light incident surface, of the substrate 1 just like holding the light permeable substrate 1 between the two elements. The photoelectric conversion regions 8a, 8b... of the second photoelectromotive force element 7 are also connected electrically in series. The photoelectric conversion regions 8a, 8b... of the second photoelectromotive force element 7 are provided on the other surface of the light permeable substrate 1 at the positions opposite to the invalid regions (shown by NON) between the adjacent photoelectric conversion regions in the light receiving area on the first photoelectromotive force element 6 side. |
