PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of a printing head at a time when it is left as it is for a prolonged term under a virgin state by using a charging electrode unified with a holding material having ink absorptivity. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 2 is unified with a holding material 12 therefor, both the electrode and the holding material are constituted so as to have ink absorptivity, a conductive material is employed as the electrode 2 and an insulating material as the holding material 12, and the electrode 2 is pressed into the holding material 12, thus assembling a charging electrode. The holding material 12 is brought into contact with and arranged to an ink groove 13 formed to a carriage for a printing head, and the ink groove 13 is communicated with an ink reservoir 14. Even when the meniscus 11 of ink is shaped between the front of the printing head 1 and the charging electrode 2, the meniscus is absorbed by the electrode 2 unified with the holding material 12, and permeates to the electrode holding material 12 having high surface energy, and the meniscus of ink is reduced. Excess ink falls to the ink groove 13 through the holding material 12, and is accumulated in the ink reservoir 14. |
