The present invention provides a method for diagnosing physical downlink failure, which is used to solve the problem in prior art that when a physical downlink fails, the information is hard to be reported accurately, and thereby the diagnosis of the physical downlink failure is affected. The method comprises the following steps: when a remote equipment detects a physical downlink failure, it determines according to a stored correspondence between information and a code the code corresponding to the information needing to be reported; the remote equipment generates a control signal from the determined code according to an appointed frequency clock; and the remote equipment reports the signal corresponding to the control signal to a near-end equipment through a physical uplink to enable the near-end equipment to carry out the physical downlink failure diagnosis according to the reported signal. |
