摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission controller for a continuously variable transmission avoiding an unnecessary fluctuation of a variable speed characteristic caused by a traveling resistance change independent of a road surface gradient change, and not imparting an incongruity feeling to a driver. SOLUTION: This controller has a target drive force calculation means detecting the traveling of a vehicle on an upward/downward slope by an upward/downward slope detection means, calculating a target drive force Ftrgt according to a gradient resistance calculated by a traveling resistance increase amount when traveling on the upward/downward slope. The controller has a hold control means shifting control to hold control maintaining the last-calculated traveling resistance increase amount when influence on the traveling resistance increase amount by a factor except the gradient resistance occurs. The controller has a hold control correction means forbidding rotation speed increase correction for a primary pulley increasing accomplishment drive force F(t) when it is decided that the accomplishment drive force F(t) does not reach the target drive force Ftrgt under the hold control. Thereby, unnecessary downshift correction is prevented even in conditions wherein the traveling resistance increase amount is maintained by the hold control.
