PURPOSE: A fan stopping system for the engine room of a ship is provided to improve fire suppressing efficiency during the operation of a local fire extinguisher system. CONSTITUTION: A fan stopping system for the engine room of a ship comprises a fire extinguisher system(110), a plurality of fans(130), and a control device(120). The fire extinguisher system is installed in the safety zone of the engine room of the ship in order to spray water to an engine. A plurality of fans are installed in the engine room in order to supply air flowing in from a duct to the engine room. The control device stops the drive of a fan.
