PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for providing electronic banking and credit service using an ATM IC card via a POS system are provided to offer credit service using a cash IC card. CONSTITUTION: An IC card reader(112) recognizes the IC chip of a cash IC card. A PIN pad unit(114) encodes a PIN number of the cash IC card and bank account password. A cash IC card payment request unit(116) transmits the payment settlement request to a POS terminal service provider server(130) using the cash IC card. A POS terminal DB(118) stores the transaction information including the transaction money and transaction list.
