PURPOSE: A multimedia system is provided to improve the utilization of an USB(Universal Serial Bus) terminal by providing data communication to the USB terminal according to the role of the USB terminal. CONSTITUTION: A USB host controller(12) communicates with a USB terminal(20) which performs a device role. A USB device controller(14) includes a first descriptor and communicates with a USB terminal which performs a host role. The first descriptor includes a storage function. When a second descriptor is not received from the USB terminal, a path establishment module(18) changes the multimedia system into a USB device mode and connects the USB terminal with the USB device controller.
