PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a light emitting device is provided to improve color uniformity and reduce the thickness of the light emitting device. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting unit(14) is formed on a substrate(12). The first electrode(16) and the second electrode(18) are formed on the light emitting unit. The first protection layer and the second protection layer are formed on the first electrode and the second electrode. A phosphor layer(102) is formed on the light emitting unit to cover the light emitting unit and the protection layer. A part of the phosphor layer formed on the protection layer is removed. The protection layer is removed.
