PURPOSE: A zoom in/out method of a device having a touch screen and a device performing the same are provided to simplify the configuration of the screen and the algorithm used for touch input recognition. CONSTITUTION: A touch input detection unit(110) detects touch input which is inputted to a touch screen. An area operation unit(130) calculates the contact area of the touch input. A zooming signal generation unit(160) generates a zoom-in/out signal according to the contact area. If the touch input is detected, a touch control unit(140) receives the contact area location of the touch input. The touch control unit measures area variation rates. The touch control unit generates the zoom-in/out signal. |
