PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a method for printing a reduced image are provided to maintain the same print quality as the original print quality by reducing a desired image without the disappearance of lines by reduction. CONSTITUTION: A network interface unit(10) receives image data from a host device. A line determiner(112) determines a line which is printed according to an option based on the thickness of an object which is included in the image data. A compensation determining unit(113) determines the compensation of the thickness of a line which is not printed. A renderer(110) renders the object based on image data. A printing unit(12) prints the object based on a rendered result.
