<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve space saving and improvement in aligning accuracy, and to enable sheets to be bound at a plurality of positions. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet processing apparatus includes: a staple tray 212 on which conveyed sheets are loaded; a trailing edge fence 220 and a jogger fence 219 which align a bundle of sheets loaded on the staple tray 212 in a conveying direction and a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction respectively; a staple unit 215 which binds the bundle of sheets aligned on the staple tray 212 and moved, at a plurality of positions; and a paper ejection tray 208 on which the bundles of sheets that have been bound are accumulated. The sheet processing apparatus further includes a sheet bundle holding member 209 which is provided between the staple tray 212 and the paper ejection tray 208 to be advanceable/retractable nearly in parallel with the staple tray 212, and advances, when the staple unit 215 binds the sheets at the second position, to hold the leading edge of the bundle of sheets 151 projected from the edge of the staple tray 215 in the sheet conveying direction by movement of the bundle of sheets 151. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
