Lock for railway carriage connecting door - has rigid bar fixed to both frame and door

A horizontal bar (3) is used to secure the connecting door (1) of an end railway carriage. The bar attaches to both the frame (2) and to points (5) adjacent the middle of the door. It is pref. pivotable to a rest position for normal use of the door. USE/ADVANTAGE - On lightweight inter-carriage doors. Holds doors rigidly closed against both pressure and suction forces.
