摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Pd-Fe alloy nanoparticle having a polyhedral shape, particularly, a tetrahedral shape, a tetradodecahedral shape or the like, and exhibiting higher catalytic activity compared to the conventional Pd simple substance nanoparticle not only in the initial state but also in a state after duration; and to provide a method for producing the Pd-Fe alloy nanoparticle. <P>SOLUTION: The Pd-Fe alloy nanoparticle is composed of Pd and Fe, has a particle diameter of &le;15 nm and a particle diameter distribution satisfying &sigma;<1.2, and has a shape of a cubic body and/or a regular tetrahedron.
