<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact optical scanner having the same scanning accuracy and manufacturing cost as the conventional scanner. <P>SOLUTION: An optical scanner of the present invention comprises: two light sources; pre-deflector optical systems for each of the light sources; a polygon mirror 2104A; two scanning lenses (2105a, 2105b); five folding mirrors (2106a, 2106b, 2108a, 2108b, 2109b); two dust-proof glasses (2110a, 2110b) and the like.
