A hologram display device (100) is provided with: an array comprising a plurality of light source elements for generating spatially coherent light; and an array comprising a plurality of spatial light modulator elements for independently spatially modulating the light from each of the plurality of light source elements. In the scan line width (Lv), the light source elements are arranged in a horizontal direction at dense regular intervals (p) and in a vertical direction at sparse regular intervals (d2), and the spatial light modulator elements are arranged to correspond with the arrangement of the light source elements.
