摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device and a power supply method for reducing surge and loss when a switching element is switched and to provide a motor driving system. <P>SOLUTION: For supplying power of a switching element, it is periodically monitored whether a detection temperature of the switching element is a threshold value or below (step 1). When the detection temperature is not the prescribed value or below, a power voltage of the switching element is not limited (step 2). When the detection temperature is the prescribed threshold value or below, the power voltage of the switching element is limited (step 3). Thus, in the case of the low temperature when breakdown voltage of the switching element is low, the power voltage supplied to the switching element is dropped and breakdown voltage excess, due to surge occurrence when the temperature is low, is prevented. The switching loss is reduced by using a small gate resistance value decided based on breakdown voltage in the case of a normal temperature, when a breakdown voltage characteristic is higher than the case of the normal temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
