<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustment method and device for an optical transmitter that are capable of adjusting a phase modulation system optical transmitter having four values or more with an inexpensive and simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An adjustment method and device for an optical transmitter 20 equipped with an LN optical modulator 10 that includes multiple phase modulation parts and a phase shift part provided at the front stage or the subsequent stage of at least one of the phase modulation parts comprises: an amplitude adjustment stage for adjusting amplitude of driving pulse pattern signal for each phase modulation part; a bias voltage adjustment stage for adjusting a bias voltage of driving pulse pattern signal for each phase modulation part; and a phase-shift amount adjustment stage for adjusting a phase-shift voltage applied to the phase shift part. The amplitude adjustment stage, the bias voltage adjustment stage and the phase-shift amount adjustment stage provide an optimal value for the amplitude of the driving pulse pattern signal, the bias voltage of the driving pulse pattern signal and the phase shift voltage, respectively, based on an optical spectrum of phase modulation signal output from the optical transmitter 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
