PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nonaqueous electrolyte and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the nonaqueous electrolyte capable of suppressing capacity deterioration due to charge/discharge cycles at high temperature in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery.

SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte contains an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester represented by the following equation (I), where R1represents an unsaturated organic group with a carbon number of 2-21, R2represents an organic group with a carbon number of 1-20 having a halogen atom, and z is an integer of 1-8.
