<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably restraint an occupant with a seat belt, while removing a slack between the seat belt and the occupant efficiently, during an operation of a pretensioner of the seat belt which the occupant has fastened. <P>SOLUTION: An occupant restraint system 220 includes a seat belt webbing 11 having a first end and a second end, the webbing configured to restrain the occupant 19; an anchor member 240 for anchoring the second end of the webbing; and an inflatable pretensioner 221 having an inflator and an inflatable cushion that includes a first inflatable chamber 225 and a second inflatable chamber 227. The inflator is configured to inflate the first and second chambers 225 and 227. The first inflatable chamber 225 is configured to deploy upon inflation to provide pretensioning of the webbing 11 to restrain the secured occupant 19.
