<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator, which can suitably control the transfer of flame energy by the use of a transfer charge, can be fabricated inexpensively and easily, has a light weight and dose not cause fluctuations in output characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The gas generator 1A includes: a short and cylindrical housing, in which the both ends consisting of an initiator shell 10 and a closure shell 20 are closed; an igniter 30 attached to the initiator shell 10; and an enhancer cup 40 made of a single member in a cylindrical shape having a bottom, in which the transfer charge 34 to be ignited by the igniter 30 is stored. The enhancer cup 40 has, on a side wall part 42: a thin weak part 42a which is ruptured or melted by combustion of the transfer charge 34 accompanying the operation of the igniter 30; and thick non-weak parts 42b, 42c which remain without being ruptured or melted even by the combustion of the transfer charge 34 accompanying the operation of the igniter 30; wherein the weak part 42a is located so as to be put between the non-weak parts 42b, 42c along the axial direction of the enhancer cup 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
