<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for determining the position of a mobile satellite positioning system (SPS) receiver. <P>SOLUTION: The method has a step of determining cell object information which includes at least one of a cell object location or cell object identification, a step of determining an altitude from the cell object information which is selected based upon a cell based communication system connected to (and typically integrated with) a mobile SPS receiver, and a cell site transmitter in wireless communication, and a step of calculating the position of the mobile SPS receiver using the altitude determined from the cell object information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
