<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond that has high safety and can stably emit fluorescence having visible to near-infrared wavelength regions. <P>SOLUTION: The diamond has a color center, a first rare-earth ion, and a second rare-earth ion different from the first rare-earth ion. In the diamond, a first light is emitted because the energy transfer from the first rare-earth ion excited by light irradiation causes two-photon absorption in the second rare-earth ion, and then a second light is emitted by exciting the color center with the first light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
