<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of being made thin in thickness, while being made lightweight and reducing the cost. <P>SOLUTION: A light source device according to the present invention is configured such that: a plurality of segment areas is provided on a cylinder part of a side face of a transparent base material 5 having a cylindrical shape and capable of being rotated and controlled; fluorescent material layers 4, which are different from each other, receiving exciting light and emitting light of a prescribed wavelength band are disposed in at least two segment areas; and an exciting light source 1 irradiating the exciting light to the fluorescent material is provided inside or outside of the transparent base material 5. Accordingly, the light source device made considerably thin in thickness can be realized. In addition to the above, the transparent base material 5 can be provided with rigidity by using a glass base material as a base material, or it becomes possible to make the light source device lightweight and reduce the cost thereof by using a transparent resin substrate as the base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
