<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system in which a user can execute an instruction to reset from a power saving mode and an instruction to start authentication operation by one action, and to provide a data reader and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The system 1000 includes a data reader 200 having a radio wave output circuit 53 which reads data stored in a portable member and an antenna 54, a CPU 51 which instructs an information processor 100 (e.g. an image forming apparatus) to reset from a power saving mode to a normal mode when data stored in the portable member is read, and a buffer 52 which stores data thus read until the information processor 100 is reset to the normal mode, and the information processor 100 having a CPU 6 that acquires data stored in the storage means after resetting to the normal mode and performs authentication based on the data thus acquired and a prepared data list. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
