<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency of light emission or reception, and to obtain a desired spectral shape in wide band. <P>SOLUTION: The optical semiconductor substrate comprises a plurality of conversion sections 3 which perform electrooptical conversion or photoelectric conversion, and a substrate body 2 on which the plurality of conversion sections 3 are arranged integrally.
