<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal vapor discharge lamp which has small displacement between an outer tube and a ferrule, and whose outer tube is hardly broken. <P>SOLUTION: The metal vapor discharge lamp 10 includes the outer tube 400 which has an opening part 402 at one end and a closed part 401 at the other end; the ferrule 500 attached to the opening part 402 of the outer tube 400; an inner tube 200 disposed in the outer tube 400 such that in a state in which a sealing part 202 formed at one end is fixed to the ferrule 500, a tip part 203 at the other end is positioned on the side of the outer tube closed part 401; a discharge tube 100 housed in the inner tube 200; and a protection member 300 at least part of which is positioned inside the outer tube 400 and outside the tip part 203 of the inner tube 200, and which is installed on an inner surface of the outer tube 400 while leaving a gap with an outer surface of the inner tube 200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
