A battery charge indicator, which can be integrated during battery mfr. or added later, contains a microencapsulated display crystal which undergoes colour changes when carrying current as a result of being connected to the battery terminals. The colour changes indicate the present charge capacity. The connection arrangement enables current flow from the positive battery terminal to the crystals and back to the negative terminal. USE/ADVANTAGE - The charge indicator is suitable for all types and sizes of battery from domestic batteries through vehicle batteries up to large batteries and accumulators.
