PURPOSE:To increase solubilizing speed of microbial cells, by synthesizing a thermophilic and alkalophilic bacterium having 45-50 deg.C optimum growth temperature, 6.5-7.5 optimum pH and negative assimilability of carbon sources for glucose, etc. CONSTITUTION:Soil or activated sludge dehydrated cake, etc., collected from sewage treatment plants are used as a separation source and screening is carried out under aerobic conditions of 50 and 65 deg.C culture temperature sand pH8 and 10 initial culture medium to provide a thermophilic and alkalophilic microorganism (FERM P-9964). The microorganism is a thermophilic and alkalophilic bacterium, having 45-50 deg.C optimum growth temperature and optimum pH6.5-7.5 and capable of growing even in a culture medium at pH9.0 and producing a microbial lytic enzyme exhibiting positive assimilability for glucose, fructose, galactose, mannose, malic acid, etc., and negative assimilability for lactose, acetic acid, etc. |
