PURPOSE: A rotating volume key control method and a device thereof are provided to protect a user from a shock due to a sudden change in volume. CONSTITUTION: A rotating volume key control device identifies a current click number by volume key operation and a rotating direction of the volume key(S210,S220). The device adds/deducts the current click number to/from the previous click number according to the rotating direction(S231,S232). When an absolute value of the total number of clicks exceeds to a set threshold value, the device changes the total number of clicks to a threshold value(S241,S242,S251,S252). The device controls audio volume according to the total number of clicks(S270).
