PURPOSE: An epidemic disease information providing system based on an area is provided to enable a user to effectively recognize local disease information by providing local disease information corresponding to the moved location to a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(203) senses the movement of a portable terminal in a first location and a second location. A processor(205) extracts first disease information corresponding to the first location and second disease information corresponding to the second location from a database(207). When problems are detected in the first local disease information and the second local disease information, the processor provides the second local disease information to the portable terminal.
