THE ELEVATOR LIGHTING SYSTEM AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PURPOSE: An elevator lighting system and a lighting control method using the same are provided to reduce power consumption by controlling on-off and an illumination value of a light emitting diode according to whether a person exists inside an elevator or not. CONSTITUTION: A lighting system(1) comprises a light emitting diode(11), a speed sensor(12), and a lighting control device(13). The speed sensor determines whether an elevator goes up and down or not. The lighting control device controls the light emitting diode according to a sensing result from the speed sensor. The lighting control device controls the light emitting diode by using an on/off control method or an illumination control method. A human detection sensor is included in the lighting system. The light emitting diode is turned on when speed change is sensed from the speed sensor. The light emitting diode is turned off when the speed change is not sensed from the speed sensor.
