A method of inhibiting expression of a protein in a hepatocyte by providing a hepatocyte expressing the OATP1B1 transport protein and introducing an oligonucleotide that has a nucleotide sequence corresponding to a coding strand of a gene encoding the OATP1B1 transport protein in an amount sufficient to inhibit expression of the protein.
