MODIFIED FACTOR VII POLYPETIDES AND USES THEREOF

Disclosed is a modified factor VII (FVII) polypeptide with procoagulant activity comprising a heterologous gamma-carboxyglutamate (Gla) Gla domain, or a sufficient contiguous portion thereof to effect phospholipid binding. The heterologous Gla domain is selected from among a Gla domain in Factor X (FX), prothrombin, protein C, protein S, osteocalcin, matrix Gla protein, Growth-arrest-specific protein 6 (Gas6) and protein Z; and the sufficient portion is 30 or more contiguous amino acids from the heterologous Gla domain, whereby phospholipid binding of the FVII polypeptide is altered compared to the FVII polypeptide with the native Gla domain.
