<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device whose damping force is made high by increasing relative displacement between a lower structure and an upper structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the damping device including first and second damping devices interposed between the lower structure and the upper structure supported so as to be relatively displaced in a horizontal direction on the lower structure at an interval L from the lower structure, the first damping device has damping force to vibration of a displacement amount in the relative displacement higher than that of the second damping device, the second damping device has damping force to vibration of a displacement amount higher than the displacement amount higher than that of the first damping device, and damping force W satisfying tanθ=x/L, and W=P×sinθ acts in the second damping device when the upper structure and the lower structure are relatively displaced in the horizontal direction by a displacement amount x, the second damping device is inclined by an angle θ from the interposed state and external force P is input in the direction in which the second damping device is inclined by the angle θ. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
