The endoscope has video camera (2) arranged at distal end of elongated, rigid main portion (1). A contact device (4) is arranged at proximal end portion of shaft main portion and is connected to electrical conductors (3). The video camera, conductors and contact device are enclosed in the cast structure (6) of main portion. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing endoscope.
