<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high reliability in splicing between the leading end portion of a new web and the trailing end portion of an old web. <P>SOLUTION: A web butt splicing device 100 relates to a web but splicing device that splices the webs in a state of being butted by putting the leading end portion of the new web and the trailing end portion of the old web with a first nipping section and a second nipping section from both the sides.
