<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor capable of further reducing a power loss. <P>SOLUTION: A synchronous motor 10 comprises: a rotor 13 including a permanent magnet 12 at an output axis 11; a stator 16 surrounding the rotor 13; and a stator coil 15 that is wound around the stator 16 in which the stator coil 15 is energized to rotate the rotor 13. The stator 16 is surrounded by an inner case 18. The inner case 18 is surrounded by a motor case 21 so that a coolant is allowed to flow in a first space part 31 between the motor case 21 and the inner case 18. Further, a cooling oil is allowed to flow in a second space part 36 between a stator case 17 and the inner case 18 to further enhance a cooling effect.
