<p>The present disclosure relates to an optical recording medium and a manufacturing method for the optical recording medium which are capable of allowing a suitable playback signal to be acquired from an area which is a bar code-shaped recording area (BCA) in an optical recording medium. High reflection ratio areas and low reflection ratio areas which alternate when seen in the track line direction are each formed in a consecutive state in the track pitch direction to form a bar code-shaped reflective pattern, whereby a recording area (BCA) for recording information using the reflective pattern is provided. In the BCA, the low reflection ratio areas are formed by rows of pits. In addition, the high reflection ratio areas and the low reflection ratio areas are formed such that when the signal level for playback signals acquired from the reflected beam at the high reflection ratio areas is treated as "H," the signal level for playback signals acquired from the reflected beam at the low reflection ratio areas is treated as "S," and the degree of modulation for playback signals acquired from the reflected beam at the low reflection ratio areas is treated as "M," the formula S + M/2 = 0.6H is satisfied.</p> |
