The method involves measuring temperature of an exhaust gas. Another temperature of the exhaust gas is computed by a temperature model. The measured and computed temperature of the exhaust gas is charged. A temperature difference is used for determining a correction amount (deltaq) of fuel injection, where the temperature difference is determined from amount of error. The temperature of the exhaust gas is measured and calculated directly on a cylinder outlet, where the cylinder outlet is arranged before an exhaust system in a turbine. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine comprising a fuel injector.
