摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing to the end part of printing paper without making an ink droplet impact on a platen. <P>SOLUTION: A region R discharging the ink droplet for forming an image is set across the end of the printing paper P. Each pixel of an outer upper end part Rfp set across an upper end Pf is recorded only by a nozzle opposing a downstream-side groove part of the platen. Then, an inner upper end part Rfq positioning in the downstream side of the outer upper end part Rfp is also recorded only by the nozzle opposing the downstream-side groove part. When a dot is recorded, and even when the printing paper P is shifted from an estimated position, as far as the upper end of the printing paper P exists within the outer upper end part Rfp or the inner upper end part Rfq, a margin is not generated on the end part of the printing paper and also the ink droplet does not impact on the platen. The outer upper end part Rfp and the inner upper end part Rfq are set such that the size in the sub-scanning direction is nearly the same even if recording density and a recording system of the image are different when the size and the material of the printing paper forming the image are the same. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
