<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy load erection machine and an erection method of a heavy load, which is capable of efficiently performing carrying and erecting work of the heavy load. <P>SOLUTION: The heavy load erection machine 1 includes: a traveling truck 10; a plurality of columns 20, 20 installed on the traveling truck 10; a support structure 30 supported by the plurality of columns 20, 20; a movable structure 40 supported by the support structure 30; a first winch 50 provided on the support structure 30; and front side lifting means 60 and rear side lifting means 70 provided on the movable structure 40.
