<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring device stirring efficiently and supplying highly homogeneous molten glass to a forming device, and a stirring method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The stirring device comprises a mixing vessel 403, a first transport pipe 404 and a second transport pipe 405 which are connected to different positions of the mixing vessel 403 from each other and introduce the molten glass dissolved in a melting furnace into the mixing vessel 403 from a clear tank, and a stirring blade 402 for stirring the molten glass introduced into the mixing vessel 403.
