The invention relates to a method and a device (20) for intraoperative imaging of brain areas (1). The aim of the invention is to display and delimit functional cortical and/or pathological areas. An image capture must be possible during an operative intervention, with no damage or reaction to the tissue during highly sensitive capture of minimal changes in temperature. The image contrast should also be improved, and important regions of the brain area should be emphasized. The solution is characterized by the following steps: an image of the surface of a brain area (1) is captured by means of a heat image camera (3); the heat images (101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106) are recorded continuously as an image sequence for several seconds to a few minutes; the image sequence is fed into a unit (17) for multivariate image analysis and subjected there to a multivariate analysis as a data cube (10); regions of the surface of the brain area having different temperatures (18, 19) are emphasized; the heat images (101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106) are selectively reflected into the appropriate microscopic image and/or registered together with the preoperative image data. |
