PURPOSE: A plug valve is provided to prevent the contamination and improve the durability of a packing because the packing is detachable from a plug. CONSTITUTION: A plug valve comprises a valve body(VB), a plug(PL), a lower stem, a cover(100), and a packing. The plug is inserted through an opening(O) of the valve body and installed inside the valve body. The lower stem is installed in the plug. The cover is installed in the opening of the valve body and covers the plug. The packing is inserted inside the cover and fitted to the lower stem, and the packing is allowed to separate from the plug.
