Disclosed in the present invention are a method and system for accessing a network, which method comprises: grouping a plurality of terminals, allocating group identifiers thereto, and establishing a mapping relationship between the group identifiers and terminal identifiers; establishing a group-based signalling radio bearer and a group-based data radio bearer for each group; and when the terminals in each group access the network, allocating to the terminals the group-based signalling radio bearer and the group-based data radio bearer corresponding to the group to which they belong according to the mapping relationship between the group identifiers and the terminal identifiers, so that the terminals use the group-based signalling radio bearer and the group-based data radio bearer to initiate the network access. By way of the technical solution of the present invention, the signalling overheads for establishing signalling connection and data bearers can be reduced.
