BIREFRINGENCE PATTERN OBJECT PRINTABLE ON SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a birefringence pattern object printable on a surface without increasing a cost by solving a trade-off problem between wettability and alcohol resistance of conventional birefringence pattern objects without increasing the number of processes for manufacturing the birefringence pattern objects.

SOLUTION: This birefringence pattern object comprises at least one patterning optical anisotropy layer including at least two or more regions with different birefringence properties and a protective layer formed on the optical anisotropy layer. The protective layer is configured to simultaneously satisfy the following surface performances: (i) wetting tension is defined to be 40 mN/m or more in a wetting tension test in conformity to ISO 8296; and (ii) a rate of change of the surface glossiness before and after dropping ethanol is defined to be 80% or more.
